Ye Ying

Ye Ying is a leading Chinese contemporary art and cultural critic, and has been Editor-in-Chief of The Art Newspaper China since its foundation in 2013. Previously, she was the Arts Editor at Chinese Bloomberg Businessweek (2011–13) and the Art and Lifestyle Editor at The Economic Observer (2001–09). She is the author of Yaobian 798 (2010), which explores Chinese contemporary art since 2000 through the emergence of the 798 art district in Beijing, and wrote the 50-episode art documentary programme, Arts China, a collection of interviews with 50+ leading art figures in China since 1978. She was a special contributor to the 2008 ‘China Design Now’ exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum and co-authored its catalogue.
