Apollo
Art Diary

29 April 2021

While some museums are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apollo’s usual weekly pick of exhibitions will include shows at institutions that are currently open as well as digital projects providing virtual access to art and culture.

From 30 April, the Royal Opera House is hosting a free online series of eight newly commissioned short works, created by collaborators from across the worlds of opera and digital technology. Works include Among the Flowers, billed as an ‘Instagram opera’; Heal You, a five-minute video shot in a Covid vaccination centre; and All Alone Together, in which the dancers of the Royal Ballet freestyle to a new version of Alfredo Catalani’s opera La Wally. The videos will be broadcast on social media – for more details, visit the Royal Opera House website.
