Recently named director of Indonesia’s new Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara (Museum MACAN), Aaron Seeto is a prominent advocate for contemporary art in the Asia Pacific Region – and for its potential to strengthen community engagement and intercultural dialogue. As curatorial manager of Asian and Pacific art at Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, he led the curatorial team for the eighth Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art in 2015. Prior to that, as director of the 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Sydney, for eight years, he commissioned projects by leading artists including Shen Shaomin and Yang Fudong.
