Aarti Lohia

1 September 2016

Singapore

Singapore’s art scene has developed rapidly in the past decade, and a thriving collecting culture has emerged alongside it. Aarti Lohia has built one of the world’s most impressive collections of South Asian art, including pieces by Indian artists M.F. Husain and Subodh Gupta and, increasingly, works by Singaporean and Singapore-based artists. The Indian-born collector manages the Lohia Foundation, which is involved in a wide range of philanthropic activities; these include the Lohia Mentorship Series, which Lohia launched in 2014 to support cross-cultural art projects.
