28 & 27 | Directors, Emalin, London, UK
Just a week after handing in their MA dissertations in September 2016, Angelina Volk and Leopold Thun converted a former Bethnal Green locksmith into Emalin, a contemporary art gallery – and before this, they had organised a programme of itinerant exhibitions. They have since participated in 12 fairs, including Liste and Frieze London. Their emphasis is on sharing their enthusiasm for art, whether it be through their own public events or their involvement in the Serpentine Galleries patron programme, which organises tours of London’s lesser-known studios and exhibition spaces. Thun was invited this June to curate Off White, the annual charity auction held by Phillips and Cosmoscow.
