Botticelli: Heroines and Heroes

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston

NOW CLOSED

In his late period Botticelli turned to spalliere – a new genre of heroic narrative painting intended for domestic interiors. This exhibition brings together some of the Florentine painter’s key works in this mode for the first time, along with contemporary responses from the graphic novelist Karl Stevens. Find out more from the Gardner Museum’s website.
