Canaletto’s Regatta on the Grand Canal

A rare opportunity to see one of Canaletto’s most famous works on tour away from London.  Painted around 1740, it depicts Venice’s annual carnival regatta.  A gondola race observed by thousands of figures, with all of Canaletto’s characteristic bravura and brilliance.
