Ceija Stojka: This Has Happened

Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid

NOW CLOSED

Austrian-born Stoijka survived the Holocaust as a young girl, but it was not until 1986 that the writer and singer began to express her experiences in paint. This is the first survey in Spain of her visceral canvases, which combine the influences of both Romani folk art and German Expressionism. Find out more from the Museo Reina Sofia’s website.
