Eckhaus Latta: Possessed

Whitney Museum of American Art, New York

NOW CLOSED

Design team Eckhaus Latta operate at the intersection of fashion and contemporary art. The New York and Los Angeles-based fashion label was founded in 2011 by Mike Eckhaus (b. 1987) and Zoe Latta (b. 1987), who met as students at the Rhode Island School of Design. They are known for using unexpected materials, emphasising texture and tactility in their designs, and for incorporating writing, performance and video into their practice to addresses themes of desire, social relations, and consumption. In their first solo museum exhibition, Eckhaus Latta present a new three-part installation that embraces and critiques various aspects of the fashion industry, from advertising and the consumer experience to data collection and surveillance. Find out more about the Eckhaus Latta exhibition from the Whitney’s website.
