Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up

V&A, London

NOW CLOSED

A trove of Frida Kahlo’s personal items was discovered in 2004, exactly 50 years after her death, which had bene sealed in her famous Blue House by her husband Diego Rivera. In this exhibition, a range of these intimate possessions – including outfits, letters, jewellery, cosmetics, medicines and medical corsets – go on show for the first time outside Mexico. Pairing these works with key self-portraits and photographs, the display offers a fresh perspective on Kahlo’s compelling life story. Find out more about the Frida Kahlo exhibition from the V&A’s website.
