This exhibition displays work from the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museo Nacional de Arte in Mexico, to highlight the dialogues and divisions between two modern art scenes from 1900 to 1960. In Lyons, ‘Los Modernos’ expands on the selection shown in Mexico with three new sections: the first examines cubism, in particular Diego Rivera’s links with the Parisian scene; the second highlights Mexico’s interest in the French surrealist movement; and the third focuses on photography, exploring the shared cultural perspectives between Mexican, American and French photographers. Find out more about the ‘Los Modernos’ exhibition from the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon’s website.
