In the year of the 160th anniversary of the Tretyakov Gallery, visitors museum will learn more about life, hobbies and preferences of the gallery’s founder Pavel Tretyakov (1832-1898). Together with his family, he made more than 30 trips to Europe, visiting 20 countries and 250 cities. This unprecedented exhibition will present 130 photographs taken in the course of these travels. It will also feature a few preserved memorabilia and photos of Tretyakov’s family and friends, people with whom he met or travelled, as well as magazines and guides of the period.
