The fourth TEFAF Art Symposium examines the relationship between private and public collections, and how they interact with the art market.

The symposium will begin with Dr Clare McAndrew who will present the key finding of the TEFAF Art Market report 2015.

This will be followed by an introductory speech by Thomas Marks, editor of Apollo, on the historical relationship between private collectors and the public realm, and on what that relationship might look like in the 21st century.

Lastly, a panel of international experts moderated by Thomas Marks will discuss the different aspects and implications of sharing a private collection with the public. The panel consists of Sjarel Ex, director of Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Bernadine Bröcker, founder and CEO of Vastari, which connects collectors to museums for exhibition loans, and two private collectors who both have had experience of sharing their collections.
