Five newly renovated galleries dedicated to art from ancient Greece, Rome and the Byzantine empire are opening at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, on 18 December. The period between early Greek art to the fall of Constantinople is represented by some 550 recently conserved objects, while a gallery dedicated to modern and contemporary art shows how these eras offer an enduring source of inspiration. Among the exhibits new to visitors is a digital colour reconstruction of the Athena Parthenos sculpture, which can be experienced through AR via the museum’s app. Find out more from the MFA Boston’s website.
