Camille Henrot

1 September 2015

Paris-born Camille Henrot delves into human nature and mythology via a dynamic practice that draws much of its inspiration from anthropology, and that encompasses film, drawing, sculpture and photography. In 2013, for instance, she made Grosse Fatigue, in which she attempted to tell the story of the universe’s origin and evolution in 13 minutes, bringing together a broad spectrum of creation myths with objects from the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. The film was a highlight of that year’s Venice Biennale, and scooped her the Silver Lion award for most promising young artist.
