Gallery: ‘Hokusai (1760-1849)’ at the Grand Palais

A few of the beautiful and delicate works by Hokusai on display at the Grand Palais, Paris

On 1 October a blockbuster retrospective of the works of the most famous Japanese artist opens at the Grand Palais. Hokusai was an astonishingly prolific draughtsman, engraver and painter and this exhibition includes prints, books, paintings (some which have never been exhibited before) and some fragile preparatory drawings. Click on any image below to open a gallery of some of the highlights.
