Gallery: ‘Lichtbilder’ at the Städel Museum

The Städel Museum, Frankfurt was the first museum to exhibit photography, just a few years after its invention was announced in 1839. The museum delves back into its own longstanding collection for its latest exhibition, presenting exceptional photographs from the earliest days of the medium to the experimental 1960s. Here are a few highlights.
