Tracey Emin: I Lay Here For You

29 July 2022

A special summer edition of this week’s Apollo Art Diary highlights four exhibitions around the world where art can be enjoyed in the great outdoors.

The artist renowned for her confessional works of art has installed a series of sculptures among the woodlands of Jupiter Artland, just outside Edinburgh, for this exhibition (until 2 October). Taking up permanent residence in the park, the six-metre-long bronze titled I Lay Here For You (2018) depicts a large reclining female figure. Additional highlights include a second bronze work titled This is exactly how I feel now (2016) which is presented within a wooden enclosure. Paintings such as Sunrise (2022) and WET (2021), displayed within the exhibition’s indoor sections, depict nude female figures which see the artist return to her familiar expressive style. Find out more on Jupiter Artland’s website.
