Antonioni’s Classic Film and Photography
Michelangelo Antonioni’s film Blow-Up (1966) – in which a man believes he has captured evidence of a murder in a public park on camera, only for both the body and his pictures to disappear – is a compelling critique of our relationship to photography and other documentary images. This exhibition displays work by contemporary artists that responds to similar themes, such as the relationship between film and photography, and the significance of image-based media in all aspects of contemporary society.
