Between 1905 and 1913, Henry Clay Frick acquired three works by El Greco while on visits to Spain. They are displayed side by side for the first time this year to mark the 400th anniversary of the artist’s death. ‘El Greco at the Frick Collection’ coincides with ‘El Greco in New York’ at the Metropolitan Museum: together they display every single work by the artist in New York public collections.
