The US edition of Frieze opens soon, hoping to tempt the art jet-set to New York after a busy week at the Venice Biennale. This year’s fair features 190 art galleries – a third of them local to New York itself – representing some of today’s most significant contemporary artists. Adriano Pedrosa’s ‘Spotlight’ section, which showcases 20th-century art and was a hit at last year’s Frieze Masters in London, forms part of the additional programme along with the familiar Frame and Focus sections (for younger galleries), and a series of Projects. Here are a few highlights.
Frieze New York is at Randall’s Island Park, Manhattan, from 14–17 May.
