Terrace Wires: Cornelia Parker RA

St Pancras International Station

NOW CLOSED

Celebrated British sculptor Cornelia Parker RA presents a new public installation in St Pancras International station.

Visitors to the station will soon be greeted overhead by major new artworks from Royal Academicians, thanks to a new four-year partnership between the RA and HS1 Ltd – owners of St Pancras International.

Cornelia Parker RA will unveil a new installation on 28 May, in the first of a series of original commissions from Academicians that will hang from the station’s huge, iconic roof.

Renowned for wrapping a Rodin sculpture in string and recently celebrated for her solo show at Manchester’s newly-reopened Whitworth Gallery, Cornelia Parker’s site-specific work promises to reach an even grander scale in this unique public space, suspended from wires above the Grand Terrace on the upper level of the station.

The partnership is part of St Pancras International’s Terrace Wires art programme, and the RA’s involvement marks the first time we have curated an external public sculpture series in the capital.
