Cosmin Costinas

Executive Director of Para Site, Hong Kong

When the Romanian-born curator and writer Cosmin Costinas was appointed at Para Site in 2011, it marked a new stage in the development of what was the first exhibition-making institution of contemporary art in the territory. Costinas’s previous experience included a stint as the director of Utrecht’s BAK centre, which was also founded and run by artists before it became a professional arts organisation. Under Costinas’s leadership, Para Site moved to a much larger site in North Point/Quarry Bay in 2015. His tenure has also seen the launch of an international residency programme, an annual international conference and, as of 2015, an educational programme for emerging art professionals.
