Dubuffet’s extraordinary rethinking of his artistic materials and techniques was central to the evolution of his art. This exhibition looks at the artist’s experiments with mixed media in painting and printmaking from the 1940s to the mid 1960s: sand, gravel, leaves and dirt appear in his finished works; sandpaper, rags and corrosive chemicals played an unseen part in their creation.
