An exhibition of works from the Lakeland Arts collections that are inspired by landscape, but do not fall back on Romantic or sublime traditions to record it. The artists featured here adopt a scientific or psychological approach to their subjects, finding new ways of looking at and understanding the world around them.
This exhibition runs in conjunction with ‘Boyle Family: Contemporary Archaeology’ and ‘Memorious Earth: A Longitudinal Study’, also at Abbot Hall Art Gallery.
