The Looser Collection (Switzerland) is one of the most outstanding private collections of modern and contemporary art in all of Europe. Strongly represented are Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Minimal Art, and Arte Povera. Featuring masterpieces from the Looser Collection by artists including Alberto Giacometti, Arshile Gorky, Cy Twombly, Richard Serra, Agnes Martin, Robert Ryman, Willem de Kooning, Yayoi Kusama, David Smith, Ellsworth Kelly, this exhibition opens new visual constellations and elective affinities between artists, in a fluid dialogue with the Folkwang’s own collection.
