Tina Gillen (b. 1972, Luxembourg) makes works of art on canvas, paper and walls. As a starting point she uses existing images such as postcards, snapshots from films and primarily, photos which she has taken herself. From this collection she then selects fragments which she isolates against a blank background. This method turns picnic spots, a chair lift, an empty tennis court or a motorway into enigmatic images.
