Tom Illsley graduated from the Photography BA degree course at Nottingham Trent University last year. He is the winner of the Photography Bursary Award 2015 supported by Nottingham Trent University, Djanogly Gallery and Genesis Imaging.
In this new body of work presented in his first exhibition since graduation, he employs maps and geographical coordinates to locate his subjects positioned at the ‘centre points’ of Great Britain. The photographs highlight the landscapes around these calculated coordinates and explore whether they might hold any deeper meaning for us.
