Executive director, Para Site, Hong Kong
In May this year, Tang took up the role of executive director of Para Site, the Hong Kong contemporary art centre that has made its name as the first – and foremost – exhibition-making institution in the territory, succeeding Cosmin Costinas who had spent more than 10 years in the role. Tang brings to Para Site extensive experience of commissioning projects and exhibitions in Asia; from 2013–18 he was curatorial director at the artist-run Magician Space in Beijing where he oversaw exhibitions of artists including Wang Bing and Liu Chang, after which he served as senior curator at the Rockbund Art Museum in Shanghai. Tang’s writing has appeared in ArtAsiaPacific, Leap, Terremoto and Mousse Magazine.
