Mariam Elnozahy’s focus is on critical, community-based approaches to art from the MENA region. She is the founder of the Open Index Archive, an open-source platform for the documentation and digitisation of contemporary art in Egypt. During a residency at the Delfina Foundation in London in 2018 she curated a series of exhibitions at the Mosaic Rooms called ‘What do you mean, here we are?’ Most recently she completed a residency with the Warsaw Biennale and U-Jazdowski CCA, researching a project titled ‘Whose Open Society? Understanding Neoliberalism and the Economics of Artistic Production in the Middle East and former Eastern bloc’. She has been published in Hyperallergic and MadaMasr.
