Anthropographes: The meaning of mould in the art

Benaki Museum, Athens

NOW CLOSED

In the exhibition presents works of arts created by the students of the the last three years of the workshop of Plaster working-Bronze casting of the School of Fine Arts, which are based on plaster copies of the parts of their bodies.

The show is divided into three thematic units: 1) Selfportrait , 2) My Hand and 3) My Weight.
The students try to give their own answer to questions about the relationship between the identical copy of a human body and the work of art itself, as well as, the relationship between the technical procedure of the cast production and the art.
All these are issues over time on which there have been diverse approaches by the artists.
