Drawings and Stained Glass Paintings from Holbein to Ringler
In the 16th century, across southern Germany and the Old Swiss Confederacy, painting directly on to small panes of glass became a tremendously popular art form. Renowned artists were commissioned to create designs, which were then executed by professional glass painters; this display brings together both preparatory drawings and finished works.
