In Sight in Blue (2016), Clare Belfrage
Born and based in Australia, Belfrage is inspired by the detail in nature. Her complex technique involves drawing with fine threads of cane glass across blown glass forms, which are then hand sanded and polished. ‘The big feeling that small gives me is intimate and powerful,’ Belfrage writes. ‘The industry in nature, its rhythm and energy, dramatic and delicate, still holds my fascination as does the language and processes of glass.’ She makes her debut at the fair.
